I have a Kilborne glass 32 ford roadster and I have been given a steel fuel tank to be mounted in the trunk. I believe the typical mounting would be to attach the tank to the roadster floor.

I am considering mounting it to the square tubing inter structure. In other words suspending it from the steel frame and keeping it off the roadster floor.

I would think installing on the floor might transmit road noise and I can see where suspending it from the steel structure might impose some stress on the tank if the steel inter structure flexes.

I look forward to your opinions as always.

if your steel structure is strong enough then go for it. the majority of cars on the road have 'em hanging. think of how heavy that'll be filled with gas.

  3. If you are considered about vibration use some sort of rubber bushing and mount it to the floor. HRP
