218787DB-07D8-40C8-8D25-22CE069523DB.jpeg In my 31 coupe build, it’ll have a gas tank in the trunk. There’ll be a firewall between the p***enger compartment. I was looking at tanks by Tanks.com. I was at an estate sale this weekend and got this aluminum tank for free. It works out to 11.45 gallons, it’s all 1/4” thick aluminum and they originally built it as a tig cooling tank, so it’s never had gas in it. There’s no baffles in it. I was going to seal it up and pressure test it. It it checks out good, I can cut the holes in the top for sending unit and pickup. Is there any downfalls to this.

I have a 13 gallon tank in my truck and it gets 20 mpg. Holding back a few gallons in reserve still gives me at least a 200 mile range - which is longer than my bladder can take. That’s still a good size for long trips.

My 31 pickup has 12 gallon tank, after 2 hours you do need to stretch and take a break.
