I have a 29 Model A roadster that's full fendered with a slightly hopped up banger engine. I'm trying to decide whether to run 35' Ford wires on it or 40' Steel wheels with trim rings and caps. I'm thinking wires powder coated red but I've seen some stell wheels red or black that might look as well. The care has a slight rake, two inch drop. Any opinions?
Color ,tire selection, rake.caps and rings, offset, wheels centered in fender openings, ride height are all important in overall selection of wheels. The combination sets the personality of the overall project. I am building a car similar to yours, and chose 16" Kelseys with caps and rings, but not sure of the color yet. Long answer to a short question, but very critical to the curb appeal. Solids are good too.Best to have both.
Full wheelcovers are coming back... Take a look at some old pics of old full fendered cars with a variety of full covers, they look good to me, and not seen often enough IMO.
