[QUOTE=''кυѕтσмѕ αяє кσσl'';7569987]Kool!! Had some pics of one. That car is similar to what I'm going for, just a few different changes to make it my own
real quick update, tacked welded the bag mounts in place and put the air line in to check everything out before final welding on the bag mounts. This picture is of it aired up And of course this one is aired out. The tranny crossmember is the first thing to hit, but that will change due to this area needed to be cut out and rebuilt
Worked late last night. After I got the rear done I just had to assemble the front just to check it out. Air out, resting on the tranny crossmember
These pics just kinda go with the update from Friday night, I just pushed it out of the garage and snapped a few pics....
great start to a perfect custom. looks like you had a good car for a starting point too. i am building a full custom 54 too, and my name is eric- weird
OMG guys. my name is Eric and I have an old chevy this is all too bizare for me. ahh shit mines a 49 though. im out of the cool Eric with 54 chevy customs club
This build is great cant wait to see it put back together. what are plans for the drive train????? if you tell me a caddy motor painted off white with chrome goodies everywhere I will get very excited
I do have a 59 cad 390 with a 4 deuce in the garage but that will go in something else. This one will start out with a 283 w/ a 3 deuce, but will eventually get the 327 w/ 6 deuce that I have. The only reason the 283 is going in first is it's ready to go and doesn't need anything other than paint.
OH Nooooooooo. I was hoping you were going to leave the 6 banger in and put a split manifold and glass packs on it.
Very cool build. Looks like all the custom touches were well thought out and well executed! Congrats!
Hi Eric, I'm laying out my notch in my '54 4 door and was wondering if I could bother you for a measurement? If so, in pic #1 below, the measurement from the CL of that body mount hole on top of the frame to the rear edge of the notch at where it meets the frame. It would be greatly appreciated if its not too much a hassle. -Brent
Had a few set backs this week, but got a few things done Made some supports for the bottom brackets for the 4-link and the part to the frame
Well I made a mistake and bought a BOP 200-4R a few years ago so needless to say that ain't going to work with the motors I have. I got to find a turbo 350 to start setting up the tranny crossmember or a chevy 200-4R. But I think I'm going to go with the turbo 350 since the camaro rear end I have is a 2.73. So hopefully another update pretty soon.
Man, nothing just yet. I'm fixing some things I'm not real happy with on the rear, but should have something hopefully soon. Thanks for following.....
The Lowcab rendering is awesome dude. If it comes out even half as kool you'll be golden. Lookin fwd to this.
I maybe wrong and hope I am, but those top link mounts look like there more on the front of the axle than the top of the axle, if so you will get alot of axle twist/wrap, and if you are running a v-8 its even worse. Again I am just tring to help you out, those mounts must be above the axle centerline and the farther away from axle center the better. they will have alot more leverage above the axle than on the front of it. looking at your setup the axle will piviot off the lower link mount and push up on the top mount. Godspeed MrC.
