I bought one of these a couple of weeks back from this guy to help fab up a chassis, figured it could help a few more people out. It's the "Deuce Roadster body" value pricing, a lot get used for manufacturer's displays and come out of what are now corporate advertizing budgets, so it's cheaper than freight shipping a real one around to shows.
Those things are cool as***** for mocking stuff up...but somebody put one over on us when they PRICED 'em...you can buy a real "core" engine for less! But, alas...they don't make 'em in configurations a guy could USE...no 2.8 Chevys, Buick V6s, Olds small blocks, 2.5 Iron Dukes, Y-block Ford, 3.0 Ford V6... ...all they offer is small block/big block Chevy, Windsor Ford, Lima Ford, and Flathead...hell, all ya gotta do is bend over and someone stick mounts for them motors up yer****...no need to mock 'em up! (Luckily...bare Vega blocks are very light...they kinda provide their OWN easy mock-up tool! )

I bought the flathead one off e bay. It is the company that makes them that you would be buying it from. Nice guy. I paid something like $175 for it plus shipping.
Yeah, that is where I got mine, off ebay. Paid $77 for it, plus $30 shipping. Under the picture in my orig post is the link to what all the guy has for sale. They weigh about 18 lbs with nuthin on them..
If you have to set up a display at a show with heads and intakes on an engine they're worth their weight in....... Well, urethane. Wayno
while we're on the subject of mock up fixtures....I have one [SBC]-I made fron 1/4"rod/scrap to simulate the dimensions of motor mounts /distributor location/cyl head location/water pump and crank pulley locations......... does anyone else have any they've built and could show us?
I hear ya, Chop...we made one for a Chevy V8 years ago when we got bored at an auto parts store I worked at. We just bent up metal and drilled holes to match a junk 350 block and heads my boss had...he kept it and said it served as a mock up tool for his Camaro drag cars! WAY cheaper...but it was just a "skeleton" of sorts!

Too, rich for me even at half the price. I considered trying to cast a Chevy Inline Six one at one point for mockup, and to dress out like a real engine to haul around in the back of my "Shop Truck" simply cause I could get it in and out without my crane. Anyone every done any casting like this with high density foam, I had plans of a plaster mold and 2 part expandy foam, I know if you mix up the foam and pour it when it's cold it cuts down on the amount it can expand and it ends up pretty dense MONGO
