Funny Cars

Both Petersen Publishing and Argus Publishing used to put out "annuals" featuring a specific class. Can you imagine doing a 2024 'Funny Car Pictorial' magazine today? I can't.

Dick Harrell's team in 1969. He was one of the first to utilize a tractor-trailer rig to get around, and he won the AHRA funny car title in this car (he was pissed at NHRA and swore that he'd never run with that group). The COPO S/S car I believe is now owned by Porterfield (I could be wrong). I used to ride my bike down to his Hickman Mills (KCMO) shop to peek in the doors and listen to them working on all the cars.
