This looks stock under the dash, except there's a small fuse block near the column that has later plug in fuses. Is this blocking my view of the stock fuse block? THX
Headlight circuit breaker is part of the headlight switch. A fuse block with one or two fuses is fastened to it. One fuse protects parking, tail, and instrument lights, the other protects the dome and stoplights.
Not 100% sure on the Tbirds but most of the 1960s ford (Fairlane,Flacon,ext..) the original gl*** tube fuse box is built in to the top side of the headlight switch in the dash. You usually have to pull the headlight switch to find it. If the Tbird is standard ford there is release ****on on the top of the switch to pull the plunger and then remove the Colette to pull out the switch. Hope this helps.
THX guys. The under dash is such a rat's nest I'm afraid to go near it. (**** up 3 things to fix 1!). So I tapped pwr from another circuit to pwr up the stop lite switch
Yep in the headlight switch....which are known to go out in early 60's Fords....nothing like driving home with The lights flashing and people pulling over like your a cop....ohhhh and than the joy of them going out completely...nope...never had it happen to me....ha ha
Right around '65 Ford finally started 'unifying' their fuse locations. Prior to that, you usually found the lighting fuses on the light switch and the rest installed inline in various places. And the early switches were fairly reliable if OEM; the aftermarket ones are junk....
My '59 has no fuse box. Just inline fuse holders and of course that atrocity of a headlight switch. All of that's going by the wayside when I rewire it.
