galaxie engine swap ?

    I have a 1961 galaxie and was considering replacing the 223 with a 390 out of a 1964 galaxie.Any sugestions or ideas are appreciated .I have both cars is there anything else needed for this swap?thanks in advance.:confused:

    if you have both cars you're good, 60-64 frames are the same so you've got all the parts.

    The part of the frame where the mounts sit are different between the two frames. You will need the rubber engine mounts for the 61 to make it work. Other than that it should be a straight swap. No frame modifications will be needed.

    Depending on weather or not your frame uses the one or two hole mounts you will use one of these mounts.

    will the 390 work with the 6 cyl radiator ? or did you have to change to the 390 radiator and support?
