(go to post #51 for better pics in the sun!)

I left off on the last thread with the roof getting flaked, scalloped and candied.

Since then, Hiboy32 and Hot-rod Roadster came over to help wet sand the roof and buff/polish it. We started wet sanding with 1500 grit, then went over it with 2000 grit.

    Jeff (Hiboy32) did buffing/polishing

I ordered a set of OE chrome wheels from Rally America (Wheel Kid) a few weeks ago and had my WWW tires from the previous red wheels switched over. They are 15x7, 4" backspacing. I am very happy with the wheels and quality of the chrome - very nice!
    Thanks, Rally America!

I also ordered a set of spider caps from Riley Automotive (VAPHEAD). They arrived promptly and look great on the chrome wheels. Thanks, Riley Automotive!
(both of the above companies are HAMB Alliance Vendors and offer a discount)

I think the wheels make a huge difference - waaay better than the red Mopar wheels I had on the car before.

Here's a before pic for comparison:

    Thanks!

I drove the car up past Sioux City today for our family Easter gathering, to put a few miles (about 300) on before the Austin trip - it's great to be back into the season where I can drive it again!
That's one of the I-29 rest stops that I know you've seen before.

In the past month, or so, I've also fixed the heater and the "accordion" boot that connects it to the cowl. Stays nice 'n' toasty in the car now! It was only about 30 degrees in the Sioux City area today. I also installed a new gas tank and fixed a few other odds 'n' ends. Just need to switch from the generator to alternator this week and should be good to go.

That roof job looks great, and those tires and rims bring it all together. Was the roof job complicated?

Haha... I was busy with the ladies, ya know! :D The Mercurys (you saw them at my Halloween party), the Mezcal Brothers, and the Rumblejetts played - had a great time! Oh, and don't you worry, we were talkin' about ya! ;)

Thanks - here's a link to the roof thread:

It should answer some of your questions. Let me know if you have any others...

Malcolm, the wheels and caps look great. But from now on, you must carry a stepladder with you for photo sessions to better show the new roof. :D

    Thanks, guys!

The wheels are 15X7 w/ 4" backspacing. Tire size is 225/70r15.

Haha... yeah, I'm somewhat vertically challenged - I'll have to start holding the camera above my head!

Hey, Joe. I really appreciate you helping me out with the generator/regulator last year. I will finally be returning the borrowed ones to you soon. I need to get your new address.

Any progress on your coupe? Show us some pics if you get a chance!
