....seeing the quality of the metalwork makes me feel like i want to dig a hole in the ground and bury me alive...
Im such a hack compared to this.

Anyway, its coming along nice. Proportions of the chop are right on.
But what im most intrested in seeing is seein the tail lights and the juice set up...
    cant wait

    Mee too!

I really wanted to thank Alex and Gene for putting on an awsome weekend! It seemed like chopping the car at nite after the class really worked out. Gene was able to cover a huge amount of info, tips and tricks in two days. I also wanted to give a big thanks to all the guys that stayed up late and kicked ass on the Lincoln top. Having a good group of guys get involved like they did is super kool and makes the whole experience of doing this car even better. Thanks for the help, good times and memories!

  21. Looks great! Subtle is always a good thing but makes such a huge difference. How easy is the glass going to be on this car post chop?

As far as chopping goes, was it pretty straight forward? Just cut out what you don't need and reattach?

Well the back glass is sunken down as we lowered the package tray. The glass is now into the rear inner fenderwells. The front glass I guess will be my job to make a fiberglass mold off the windshield make that fit then belt down a glass off the fiberglass pattern.

Ya it was in the front as the A pillars were a straight down deal. However they were offset quite a bit so the lower ones were torched hot then bent in and the uppers were torched and bent out we spent some time on that but when we finally got them clamped they are within 1/32 to 1/16 of inch of each other and that really depends on just on how you read the tape and hold it. They were so freackin thick they didnt want to budge the were multiple layers of what looked like 10 guage metal. The back wasnt as easy as we thought the glass hit the inner fender wells so we had to make a channel in the fender wells to get the package tray and glass down. there is still several inches to the top of the tire. We still need to build all the metal around the rear glass area where its sunk. and the door jamb needs to get dealt with and the trunk hinges no longer work as the pivot now interferes with the glass. So hinges will have to be made. straight forward yes easy no.

  26. Man I wish I could have been there...those A-pillars are deceiving in the pictures.

I really like the mild chop...I think you can plan on having the only chopped Lincoln of this vintage any place you go...hat's of guys, this is tits.

  27. This was a really cool chop to watch go down. There was a lot of great discussion going on regarding how to tackle sinking the rear glass, lining up the A pillars and other stuff, but the funniest was hearing Gene say, "I told you what to do, cut it!!"

Here are a few of my pics from Friday night...

This is going to be killer. The car is so massive, the subtle chop fits it perfect. Look forward to updates.
