Gangstering My Bros. Model A...

My Brother purchased this Model A ..Some of you may know it as it was purchased off the HAMB cl***ified add..
It had a boring SBC power plant..
I flew down to miami to redo it...7 days from boring to Obnoxious..
We Raised some hell in Miami last week...

i flew down to Florida on tues...the car is in miami at his lil studio garage..
engine out.
this is Chris getting ready to yank the motor prior to my arrival..
I told him "Yank that ***** outa there"...
He got right on it...

 

This is the inspiration to the induction...We want to make some noise too...so a solid flat tappit cam is in the box on the bench..ready to go.
510" ,238 duration, 107 cl for a good lick but still with low end torque for the fourspeed drivablilty.

 

that intake is pretty, hell id have it on a stand and leave it in the house if i could have two!!

after 5 long nights and a few trips to and fro the machine shop...we got our mojo working..with the help of some Kettle One....2am and going strong sat night.

Sweet ride..

 

I got video comming...she makes some sweet noise...We ran her through down town Miami beach at 2am on tuesday...Raised hell...It was a big hit...here she is with me at the wheel headed back to Ft. lauderdale..I had a flight to catch 6am on weds morn..
my job was done...do the motor for my brother and get it dialed in..and also squeeze in as much fun as i could...this was time off work...so I made the most of it.
fwiw...Im home now..just getting pics down loaded and vids....of my week..I thought you guys might like to hear about it.

this picture was 75mph..with one finger on the wheel.headed north..i barely had my foot resting on the throttle...nice lil cruize on a cool florida morning..

I sent the double hump vette heads off for a valve job and springs for this new lumper solid cam.
its a 66 vette 327 motor...here is a shot of the intake on it before we stripped it and sent it off for machine shop..
I had to see this intake on the motor....
this was wed night day 2 i believe..

taking it from a single 4bbl with a rochester carb and flat sedan camshaft..
summit store bought headers with full exhaust...
to
Flying down from Atlanta to Miami for my Brother..and in 7 days..
and putting in 510" lift solid flat tappit fresh motor..3-two bbl carbs and open lakester pipes...then wringing the hell out of the fourspeed with it...

what do you call it when you do this ?

some more of the engine going together.

 

i put on the old headers and the full exhaust so i could hear the engine better during breakin ... it did just fine..after breaking in the cam and then doing a few heat cycles..setting the timing and carbs..pulled the plugs...
she runs real nice...
then we pulled the down dump headers and put on the lakesters...those sound great..

here is a sweet ride ...Its a buddy of my brothers...who just finished this and is working on a few more....like i said this area of florida is burgeoning with these cars..

here is a link to it running..however this video sound ****s cause we had 2 exhaust fans running with killed the sound of the engine.
i got a better one comming.
this is with the 3.25" hole straight out the lakepipe...later I put the plates/plugs over the ends and forced it out the dumps where the full exhaust hooks up..
running it open out the dump...really changed the soung gave it a nitro top fuel crackle..
really nice.....i got a video of that comming...
this will have to do for now...just out the straght exits..

yes..took the old one out rebuilt it and re-installed it with more better hotter parts...

 

Must mean using the american flag as a drop-cloth. That ain't cool.

 

here it is launching...this is about 2am tuesday in miami 54st outside of the "stage bar" after the fun for the night...
I took a few people for rides in it...in this video youll see a guy begging to get out.
his girlfriend is the one yelling..."let me out its a death trap"
this is a burn out from first through second and third...it will probably spin 4ths since it appears the posi clutches are shot...however i ran out of realestate...
this car wouldnt do this..a week ago...not even close...

seeing as there was no where to put it as it was folded up in the trunk and it got wet...so we hung it over the roof to dry out...
