Thanks, T-Bird. It was a lot of fun making, and even more riding! I occcasionally take it out to practice meets, where we set up a little course in a parking lot, and the guys always get a kick out of seeing me take a few laps on it. The little thing is even smaller than a pocketbike (height at top of head tube is between 12"-13", wheelbase is 28", a standard pb is 22" and 36", respectively). Those are 4" goped wheels, btw.

    This is a cool thread!
I needed a bench grinder stand, didn't like how easy it was to tip over the POS stands you see at the store SO....
This is a grinder stand I build years ago out of stuff I had in the shop.
-FE crank & lower timing gear
-Some 3" nerf bar tubing from my off road truck days
    -Left over 2.5" exhaust pieces
    -Olds con rod
-Mostly empty can of AC refridge oil
-1/4" Alum plate blued and scribed to be used as carburetor spacers and trans pan spacers (geeze what we would think up to try and save a buck!)
    -FoMoCo bolts
    -14" slot mag wheel
I removed the key from the crank, slit the tubing so it can flex, welded tubing to the timing gear to help it all stay centered. I can remove it if needed for easy relocation and it allows me to swivel/ lock the top down. Con rod was the perfect size for the AC can, but it won't fall out.
Only thing I would do now is find an old 14" race tire and mount it to keep the vibration down and make it look even better
Anyone have a 14" slick in Tejas? :D

Here's a pic of a clock I made out of a real Halibrand champ quickchange. Dont worry the Q/C had a bearing support broken inside. Sold the other half to a buddy that did the same. Thats a 12" moon disc i made the face out of. I didn't do the stripping. I'm not that talented.

I think that icebox with beer would be great at the tailgate bar.

  22. Unfortunatly I dont have a camera at the moment so I'll just tell y'all what I built. first I built an owl lookin animal out of broken bumper brackets from a 04 chevy G-van. then I built a tree out of 2 junk jackstands, exhaust scraps from when I modified my jaguars exhaust, and some curly cue candle holders I found in a dumpster, then my last progect is my little man, built from an old leveler from my rv, sbc rocker arms make up his spine a square washer from a 70 chevy c-10 that I replaced the body mounts on, and messed up bolts from my shops scrap pile. wish I had some pictures.. one of these days I'll get a camera.
