My cousin asked me to come over and check out some stuff he got from cleaning out the garage of a house he sold. He says "look at this, the guy said it's off a '53 Cadillac". Anyway it is an Edelbrock CD-693 with three 97's. I don' t have any Cad stuff and he would like to get some money for it and I said I'd help him out. If I were to sell this what do you think it's value is? Here are the pics. Brick
97 cores go for between 25$ and 125$ each. The intake is I would imagine rarer so I would say maybe 200$+. Old saying about its only worth what a person will give ya for it comes to mind though with this one. More then likely alot of tire kickers before a buyer appears. So Doc is pretty dead nuts on the price 0f 600$.-Weeks
Best way to find out is to clean it real well (carefully) and take some good clean pictures and post it on e-bay. After 7 or 10 days you will know exactly what it is worth.
I've never sold a core Stromberg less than $100 except one that was apart I got $75 for. $600 sounds reasonable, more if someone wants it really bad.
Sell it if you don't plan on using it. It's no good to keep this **** from people that need it. On the other hand I feel everybody should have an early Cad V8 so get on that first and then you'll have the intake.
In comparrison to ford/chev there isn't a lot of Cads out there and the ones I have seen already have the carb set up. I say if you get a decent offer 5-$650 or so take it.
Someone here on the hamb made a good offer thru a pm and it will now be put to good use. Thanks for the advise everyone
I used one of those on a '59 caddy, seemed to work pretty good. Sent tha big ol' boat right down the road to, very smooth power.
So what did it cost and is it worth more to you or your cousin as wall art?. Or is it worth more to be used as it was made to do. If its worth more as art than function thats to bad for the hobbie. Sell it for a reasonable profit and all will be happy and karma will smile on you.
Wonder how many times it will be relisted on the evil site....... He heard from us lol what its worth honestly. No ones looking for a deal on it and everyone gave pretty much what there top dollar would be if they even needed it.-Weeks
The one posted and the one on E-bay are not the same. The one on the Bay is a far reach form reality.
I don't know if you were implying that I was the one who listed the manifold in the ebay link but I not. I did sell it to a HAMB'r.
My bad, sorry being a dumb 23 year old who was tired at almost 1am. Glad it went to a hamber. I watch certain items on the bay and alot of the time the buy it now crud gets relisted numerous times.-Weeks
