I saw a post on craigslist a few days ago for an "automotive garage sale" this coming Saturday, but I was scheduled to work so I figured I would have to miss it. I found out at the last minute that I wouldn't have to work after all, so I headed down this morning to the sale. The sale started at 9, and I was running late so it was nearly 10 by the time I got there. As it turns out I was the first person to even show up. As I pulled in the driveway the first thing I spotted was a flathead on an engine stand! By the time I left I had my truck nearly full, here's what I got. Two flatheads, one mostly complete, one disassembled, but seems to all be there. A Borg-Warner T-10 4-speed. An old Hurst mystery shifter. A hacked up old Moon gas pedal. An old motors manual, and a chassis manual. And finally, eight 94 carbs. Along with a bunch of other misc. stuff. The grand total..... $260. I'm not really up on my flathead prices, so how did I do?
cheap to get expensive to rebuild? cross your fingers block is not cracked.. i guess this is common on flathead blocks from what i have read. from what iv read... scrap is bring in more money than you paid? so you probably did ok. chris.
