I just got to the Hamb today; here is the dimensions you asked for. Bottom of rear cross member (behind tank) to floor 17 3/4 in. and the bottom of the end of frame in the front is 17 3/4 in. I am adding a picture of the new front tire as I just removed a 195 65x 15 and installed a 205 75 x 15 tire. It fills the wheel opening better.
It's hard to see my front mounts for the engine ass the headers are in the way. Go back to post # 30 on page 1 of this thread to see better pics of the C.E. front engine mounts and X member torque box replacement plates. I had to modify the X member plates because of my trans choice, but I started with the C.E. kit for a turbo 350 kit using split wishbone mounts.

pics of the frame part of C.E. side of block mounts. ^^^^^^^ IMG_2016.JPG IMG_2017.JPG
you drill 2 holes through the top lip of the frame and 2 through the bottom lip and you can install these under the lip or over the lip. that alone will change the height of the engine about 1/4 in. and you can see the step down in the stamping which is almost the thickness of the rubber biscuit.

I was on a thread a few days ago and @ gimpyshotrods had a few posts about GM metric disc brake calipers. It was stuff I was completely unaware of and yet symptoms that were familiar.Yesterday I pulled off my left front wheel to look at my pad /rotor clearance. It looked like .030 to 040" and based on what I had read, I figured that I had at least one of the "low drag" calipers with a NON low drag master cylinder. I had already ordered the Afco calipers that were recommended in the thread.
I'll be installing the new calipers over the next few days. It's pretty icey outside, so a test drive will not happen for a while ,but I'll be able to judge by just bleeding the system. I couldn't find the original thread so I added it to this one. I want to thank everyone who contributed to that discussion. The. H.A.M.B. is great

Thanks ,Sam, for finding that. I couldn't remember the original poster or the name of the thread. Memory may not be the first casualty of ageing but it is definitely the most important.

Finally got the Afco calipers installed and mostly bled. With the snow and salt on the roads, it could be month before a test drive. The pedal is hard and up as it should be. I can't wait to drive it.
I had a couple of weird things that delayed the install. First; I bought Napa ultra Premium pads and they were too thick on one side. It didn't matter which caliper I used them in they wouldn't go over the rotor. Second; the right rotor wouldn't retract enough ( using a clamp) to fit on either rotor using either set of pads. I called Afco and they sent me another right side caliper. Excellent service. As for the pads, I put them on the mill and made them fit and the same thickness (total) for both sides. Some days chicken...some days feathers.

Small update . The new calipers worked great; the pedal is up where it's supposed to be and solid . I still have to re-adjust the prop valve to balance the rears.
I've been making some changes for this years driving . I removed a leaf from the front spring and moved the small spacer from the top of the stack to the bottom. If I have to go more ,I'll have to get another spring with less arch or have this one de-arched.
I have a nasty " drone" in the exhaust and am working on eliminating a "sound short" with new mounts for the exhaust pipe.

That's the drivers side; I am making the right hand version for the pass. side. It looks like the washers might touch, but they don't. I won't be marketing these things ..... in case you were wondering.;)

Well that should fix it Joel. It sure helps to keep a fuel pump quiet when they are mounted on thick rubber like that.

My original plan was pretty simple and easy and in the back of my head I knew it wasn't the best but I was in a hurry to get the coupe on the road. I built in an opportunity to do it over.

Joel, I just finished binge-reading your thread. Excellent work on both the coupe and the thread. Like being back in shop class! Did you ever get the Man-a-fre manifold on and dialed? Hope all is well.

Thanks, Mike. No Man A Fre yet; I'm trying to make progress on my '41 p/u . Actually I'm helping my son with brakes on his '50 Chevy convert. He wants to sell it I think.

I do have a change coming for the coupe. I just sent an axle and spindles to Nostalgia Sids for a small drop and the associated steering arm adjustment. I want the front to come down about an inch and I'm going to raise the rear about 1/2 in. I'll make shorter lowering block in the rear.

Thanks @D.Conrad; I have one and It need to be machined to fit the milled block and heads of the engine in my coupe. With all I have going on, it will have to be a winter project. .... It was supposed to be last winters project.
