My hands are sweaty, my breathe is slow and my hard is pounding. My wife ask me if I'm alive, a lot last night. This morning I'm sitting alone in my kitchen, watching your awesome.
Is 04.55 in the night (getting ready for work) and I can't decide if I'm in love or turned on by you pictures, because they are truly a thing of beauty and awesome at the same time.

image.jpg This has been my favorite ever since I first saw it here on the HAMB. I have no background on it but love it.

AHOTROD: Unfortunatly not mutch. I first saw it, when it came to my small town in 1967 ;my Dad and I bought her in 1972. Have been told it was built late 1950's in Boyertown Pa. I have been searching for the rest of her story...for the last 43 years!

  11. I am going to guess that those wheels are Halcrafts with the mini brake/hill holder. Halcraft made Digger wheels before they embarked into the motorcycle wheel thing.

Harley wheels were the hot setup for Altered roadsters back in the later '50s or early '60s. The Ol' Man wanted to switch to Ansens but the skinny kid needed shoes ( pretty expensive shoes) so this roadster never got past bike wheels before it changed owners.

  14. Cool complete with a tractor grill shell. :D

Always wanted a bantam sometimes I wish I had bought a body while MAS was still peddling them. They were cheap plastic bodies, but cheap plastic isn't bad when you only *drive it 1430 ft at a time. :D

*drive is a nominal word here I don't think you actually drive and altered, its more like herding buffalo (or cats).

  16. The absolute most memorable ones were like shooting a smooth bore, you never really know which way the bullet is going to fly on its path to the target. :D

It has always amazed me when you see one all over the track and still make the big end as fast as a lot of diggers. They go twice as far. :D I was at a race a few years back that the wife and I just decided to stop and see on a trip. There was a guy in a T altered roadster that went trough the traps @ 139 and ran a 12 and change. I remember her laughing and saying, "A 12 second mile that's pretty fast isn't it?"

That TD I posted used to run A Altered with a *nail head I doubt it ever made it to any important races though. The Ol' Man called it a poor man's Bantam. After I grew up he told me that originally he had all of 25 dollars (in labor) in it.

I think that is what kills us today, just entry into the game is way over some of our heads. Although I do got my eye on a cheap T Altered roadster project.

05_2421.JPG img010.JPG I have posted these before. But I love seeing them. My C/A Bantam from the late 50s when I started building it. To '65 when I sold it. The coupe the replaced it from 65 to 98. img010.JPG
