Here is what we are paying in tax on gas,,,this is state and federal combined,,,,

I wish instead of the kick start $600.00 checks being sent out the federal government would have put toward money to lowering the taxes at the pump,,,that would have helped us all,,, HRP

Speaking from personal experiance here in what used to be called Great Britain let me ***ure you that once petrol proces go up they NEVER GO DOWN!

We currently pay about $8.50 per US gallon. Fuel is sold in Litres here. Once it broke the magical £1 per Litre barrier the next one to go will be £1.50 per Litre.

People just get used to paying more and the Oil companies just get used to reaming everyone out.

Yes, we pay very high fuel tax but even so the Oil companies keep posting Mult Billion $ profits.

The major reason for the huge price hike over the past few months has got nothing to do with how much oil is being pumped. It is to do with speculators and the very weak Dollar.

Not going to be very popular here but the best thing for me over in good old Blightly is for Oil to be priced in Euro's.....

Ethanol is made from corn. It is the reason for the latest round of food price hikes. Corn is to eat, not pour in your gas tank. Besides, now the ecology kooks are saying it causes more "greenhouse" g***es than gasoline.

Yeah especially since we all aren't going to get the full $600. Might as well put it to better use.
