Hi, I am new to this site and it's a place where everyone who loves cars, regardless of brand or style, can find common ground. Anyways, I grew up playing with Hot Wheels (the first ones), slot cars ( I had a eldon and then a tyco set) but my all time favorite were those Cox, Wen Mac, Testor gas cars. Man, I miss those and I loved the smell of the nitro! Does anyone else have fond memories of playing with those old gas cars?

In fact I do remember having a couple of those....they even had a sound of their own. My brother and I used to race them....slicks on the back, could adjust the fuel on them....those were the good toys.

I didn't have one as a kid, but I bought this the other day, it fills the void from not having one as a kid.:D[IMG]

I had 3 gas cars while growing up. My first one I received for my 7th BD back in 1970. It was a Cox Dune Buggy painted metallic orange. I used to start that thing up and just let go! I would chase that thing all over the neighborhood. My 2nd one was a used 57 Chevy that once belonged to my brother. It was a red g***er with a lot of detailing. It even had a speed racer guy inside. My last one was a Cox Pinto funny car called "The Black Widow".
Now days, there are those remote control cars, but for me, those old gas cars were the best.
