Yes...there is another Fleetline, and it has an excellent chop done by Mark X (who is no longer working there).

Well he doesn't say that he DIDN'T build it either. It's up to interpretation with the association of the car and Gasmonkey Garage in the pics and all.

Hey, i did the chop with mark .
I no longer work there either. I still use the shop though, because my tools are there and richard is ok with it. That on on ebay is rough around the edges to say the least. The fleetline and the slammed sedan are the cars that have been built exclusivaly by gas monkey.

You get it or you don't.

These guys prolly don't get it.

Fair enough but who the fuck cares HOW MUCH they don't get it.

When I looked it over at Pate, I believe it was set up for a flip front end. At that time the doors were welded shut also. They were tacked to keep them in line while doing the body work. I couldn't afford the bondo it would take to smooth it. Good looking car though. Lots left to be done. TP

    yes it is welded shut
but i think its set up to be a tilt front end. i didnt get under and look but that is what i thought it looked like. There wer some tabs tacked to hold the 1/4 panel to the door. i think it was to keep it shut till they put a latch in it.

Car looks different but I think this is the car BubbaLuv describes. My wife begged me to buy it at Pate. But it looked a lot better at Pate. We talked to the guy who was selling it, has some awesome work on it, if it is the same car. Was marked with a marker to be sectioned. Never met the Monkey guy, can't personally pass judgement on him but a lot of folks whose opinion I value have voiced their opinion.

Yeah I'm pretty envious of it too! Got the tour up at Pate. I so love the big race trailers. He was hauling 4 cars in it two up top and two down low. If you've seen the upper births you'll know why that black and red coupe is chopped so radically, just so it fits. lol

I've talked to Richard twice. Once in Austin, and once in Ft. Worth. And once you guys mentioned the JJ stuff, ding, ding, ding. Thats the head of the nail right there.

BTW did anyone get a look at the Gas Monkey Ferrari at Roundup? Doesn't Jesse James have a Ferrari? Coincidence.......I think not!

Ok, so the hood is welded for a tilt front end. Why is the trunk welded shut? A tilt rear end too? :D I'm assuming (there's that word again) they are going to cut it out the way they want it?

  20. this shit is too funny. i can just imagine the bandwagon bashing ya'll would have given builders like ed roth back in the day. and don't you dare say you wouldn't have.....it's all relevant.

He sure gets a lot of plublicity on boards like these. I think he gets more business 'cause everyone bitches about him and keeps him in the spot light.
I think if everyone ignores him he will end up burried in the debt that is his fancy trailer and will be gone for the rest of our lives! We should let the gas monkey loose back in to the wild!
