I went across town today to stop by the clock shop I used to work at...rode the Mini-Bike. On the way home, I stopped into a gas station to top off it's tiny tank...spent FOURTEEN CENTS! Can you believe THAT??!! It's gettin' outta hand, I tell ya!!! (I ride that thing EVERYWHERE these days...spend about a dollar a week on gas!) Just thought I'd share that with ya...it seems so funny to walk into a gas station and drop some loose change on the counter, then say "Fill-up on Pump 3, please!" They look at you like you think it's the 40s or something!!! The bike got TONS of attention today...looks like I might be building a few more for people who want 'em! Such an easy thing to rig up, I don't know WHY anyone would PAY to have one built...but I gave out my phone number to about five different people today! (Hey, I won't argue if they got money to spend...gotta do SOMETHING to feed that gas hog! )
What's the mini bike like? I've seen pics of chopper-style mini bikes, they looked hella fun. 14 cents...
Fat Hack- Try CA gas prices... $2 a gallon (Although I'm sure our European friends will LAUGH at that small amount!) Any pics of the bike? It's street legal? How do you go about getting it registered/etc.? I wanna see it!
I do not laugh. I CRY like a baby. If I told you how much it costs over here in Norway you would call me a f... liar. ....so you americans, go out a buy your selfs a large carb and have fun and SMILE!!!. Paul
[ QUOTE ] someone my age putting around on a motorized bike really doesn't bother them, and that I should be okay! [/ QUOTE ] Or....another way to interpret that is.....Someone your age putting around on a motorized girls bike makes them laugh so hard that they pee themselves. Who can write a ticket with pee running down their leg? he heh heh. Just Joking Fat Hack. You know I dig that monster, plus you know I ride around here on my mini bike. The neighbors think I am insane.... Keep on truckin' $.14 JT.
My heart goes out to you guys in other countries that pay throught the nose for your fuel. It really does. I'll never complain about our prices again. I would never be able to afford to do the long trips that I love so much if I had to pay your fuel prices.
Funny you should mention this, as our leader(?)has just upped the tax on petrol and diesel AGAIN..the most expensive fuel in the world just got dearer...the last time they did this the country came to a halt due to the truckers blockading the depots and running 10 mph rolling blockades down the motorways...I REALLY don`t like politicians.Enjoy it while you can guys as I read recently that, the powers that be. are looking to hit the motorist in the pocket in California to try and balance the books there.I can`t tell you exactly what a gallon costs over here `cause they sell it in Litres and that makes no f.....g sens to most of the population over here who still think in imperial measures... the country`s*****ed!!
13 MPG divided into 2500 miles round trip to CHRR = 192.3 gallons. If I average say $1.89 per gallon that's roughly $363 bucks just in gas. Then there's hotels, food, tickets, film, cigs, BEER, etc. I may get better mileage this year as I changed the jets and rods and went thru the distributor.
