.929¢ per litre for the good stuff and .817 ¢ for the cheap stuff.

    That translates to:

$3.36 per gallon for the good stuff and $2.95 for the cheap stuff.

The price of GASOLINE may now be adjusted for inflation, but consequently, prices for many other things are now decidedly NOT adjusted. This is what happens when a sudden spike in energy sources happens. Like I said, it wreaks havoc on our economy. It is one of the rising costs that has done much damage to my own small business (based on driving around). Until it stabilizes to where everyone is taking the costs into account, then it is continuing to damage our economy.

Not that this is the first time someone's done it, price-hike or not, but with the back up car boggin' on the commute and my '57 Effie awaiting a cherry-pick job in the garage, I tried to drain the truck's tank, today, to gas up the fume-runnin' Volvo (the Swede, as I call it).
Over an hour later, I ended up taking out the whole tank and tipping its throat towards a tall funnel perched in the Swede's gas hole. Turned out to only be 'bout 4 gallons (the Effie's gas gauge is broken), which is still worth over 10 bucks. And the '57's tank needs work on it, anyway.
Still, while tippin' it, trying not to lose too much 91 octane gold on the driveway, I wished someone else was there with a camera, just seemed like a good visual metaphor of the times.

  5. $1.85 in Missouri for regular. I get .03 cents off that at Wal Mart with my Wal Mart gift card. Dean

Found this while doing a search, couldn't resist bringing it back....Ahhh the good old days!

  7. Wow... $1.85 was a lot back then. I would do some pretty ridiculous thongs to get gas that cheap these days. I think I burned close to $30 in gas going down to Billetproof and back this weekend.
