I collect Oilzum motor oil cans and signs. The company is long gone. They were based in Worster, Ma. They advertised in Hot Rod magazine in the 50's and 60's......JT
Dug this out of the back-40 after the frost pushed it up for a number of years. (I live on an old private junkyard from the 1960's, all woods now) Never heard of it before. I'd like to stick with one brand as a theme, but which one is hard to decide. Great stuff still being added to this thread!
Dang, I can not wait to retire from the military and finally make a HOME somewhere I know I'll stay! Awesome looking stuff!
colville ... speaker grill from a 55 Olds ?? Havi ... I cant tell the scale but is that a 2 gallon can? ... alot of the pariffin based cheap oil came in the big cans in the 60s ... cool.
Gambles was a part of Gamble-Skogmo, a Minneapolis-based company that started as an auto supply store in Fergus Falls, MN in 1925. By 1939, there were 1500 franchise and 300 corporate Gambles stores selling hardware, appliances, auto supplies, etc. throughout the Upper Midwest. Gambles eventually operated a large number of retail and discount chain stores selling clothing, hardware, groceries, drugs, etc. throughout the U.S. A number of bad business decisions and management mis-steps resulted in most of their operations either closing or being absorbed by other companies in the early 1980's
My Shop just underwent a Major remodel. We even got the 50's Diner Booth Set up!! It's all still not done, but here it is so far.
I Bought my Wife a 1955 Stoner theater candy machine for our 25th Anniversary. We added it to the line!!! Now I am working on a License plate from each state to use as a border. I am just over half way there!!!!
I like the candy machine...but I think my wife would kick my ass if I got her one for any event. She likes my shit in the shop, but she don't want any of it.
In my wifes Craft room, she has a 48 Coke machine, a 68 7Up machine, and now this 55 Candy Machine. She loves shit too!!! Plus made me look good for anniversary gifts!!!!!!
Just sitting in the TV room in the house . Have a National pump that I did a couple years ago and made it into a show case ! Wife's idea putting something different in the TV room .
What brand is this? It says RPM. Colors of the can is blue and white with maybe a red or orange RPM if not just white.. its hard to tell. I have 2 of these cans. Both were used as oil cans at one point but not sure of they started as oil cans.
