Hot Rods Gas Tank Stuck will not come down

My first car was a '48 Jeep. I was 15 yrs. old. It had the gas tank under the seat. Well, the floor was rotted out, so I thought I'd take it apart and fix it. With the seat and tank removed, I got the torch out and started t******* up the hole in the floor.

Never did I realize the gas line ran along the frame rail. When I got it all trimmed out, I saw the steel gas line was ALMOST melted through.

Sometimes I wonder how I got so old...
