If your old tank is shot you should go with this tank that includes the new sending unit. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1955-Ford-...rentrq:60333f311650ab66c55963b3ffff7ee7|iid:1
Look under the car towards the front there are bolts that go into the straps longer bolts will probably work for you. The fuel lines are 5/16" the old ones can get gunked up from sitting so should be replaced.
if replacing the gas line you will need to do so in two pieces as factory was run before body was set on frame.
I used two metal brake lines from Autozone 5/16" X 6' you will need a union and some adapter fittings too.
You need an adapter fitting from the tank to the 6' new line then a union to the second 6' line from there it's on to the fuel pump which will require some adapter fittings. The new 6' lines have flared fittings on both ends. Autozone's part number is PAX-572
If you cut the lines flare the ends and use the union to connect. Compression fittings are ok but not a ideal fix.
