Hey folks, Shouldnt even have to post this, but if you read my other post you will understand why I am looking curiously at gas tanks. The tank I have is going to go to the shop for an estimate tomorrow, but by the looks of it and more than one opinion has said it may cost more the repair then to buy a new tank. If I end up with a new tank I want to use a round "moon style' tank in the trunk as there is the perfect spot to mount one. I have looked in the Speedway and Moon catalogs and see prices of $110 average for an 11 gallon tank. I need something between 16-22 gallons, preferably 20ish as the car is a bit on the thirsty side. So the question is who and where can I find a round moon style tank in that size ? It all depends on what is cheaper fixing or new ? We will see when i can find some prices.
Maybe a motorhome tank ? I dont even know where to begin other than getting the estimate on the tank repair ? I just want my eyes on something so if worse comes to worse I can get one quick and stop the "platic can in the trunk" temporary fix I am doing now.
im not fabbing a tank out of a keg, **** that. This thing needs to be up and running ASAP and that is pretty much all im waiting on is a real tank to replace the gas can in the trunk.
that tanks not keeping you off the road my friend..its that ****ing Charlie price carb you got on it!!! Nads!!!! Come dial this pig in!!! and Ill have the tank problem handled......slow down my boy you dont have a race to get to
We drove the Buick Bomb last night! It would have been a great drive...but about 3 block down the street his lights went out on me...so I did a moonshine run back to the shop... J Dog I just got to the shop and we left the battery hooked up all night...and WOW it even started up...next step choke cable, and some straight pipes
Cool deal, Justine called, but I couldn't by, I had to watch the kiddies. So how good is it running? I bet you'll need a 12V relay for the headlights, but I've got a 6V in my '54. I've never had a problem, it should be an easy fix.
