I'll beat someone's *** if I see 'em stealing $4.50/5.00 a gallon gas - in my car or anyone else's ! Hell , I'll do it NOW !
I keep an empty gas can in the back of my truck. It's been moved around and messed with lately. Planning on marking it "91 octane" and fill it full of ethanol. Should be fun!!!!
I'm thinking about a skid plate covering the tank, and a spring in the filler neck. Puncturing tanks and stealing gas was common here after katrina.
After reading all the posts that this thread has received (7 pages), it is something to think about in the very near future on what is going on with the gas prices. Thieves are thieves, be it gas or anything else that isn't theirs. Fellow HAMB'rs, just a heads up in the matter...KNUX!
Best thing is to make either a cover or just make your gastank (if you haven't made it yet) out of at least 16ga stainless steel, granted stainless is a ***** to work with but let them try to drill or punch a hole through it.
