Is there supposed to be a gasket between the intake and exhuast manifold? Theres the carb, then the gasket between the intake and carb, then the intake and the exhaust manifold (between these two)? the manifold I had on there that cracked on me, as I took that off I noticed no gasket between the two. This is for the 215 inline 6.

If the head and exhaust manifolds are machined then they don't need a gasket .

They definitely need a gasket, even if they're machined they need a gasket. The intake/carb setup on that motor is so hard to get torqued right, you need that bit of gasket to take up whatever slop might be in there.

Thats what I thought nailhead65. The book doesn't show a gasket that goes between the two.

Fel Pro makes them. I know I went with a much thicker aftermarket style when I did the different manifolds. I know there was one in the box when I redid the motor so they must sell it separately.

The part number for Fel Pro is MS 9960 and they're $11.67 from Rock Auto and they're in stock from what I can tell.
