[IMG]for the bumper I got what I think is 3 inch pipe I sourced from my welding class (peope have suggested it is for a fence post but I am not sure it is really thick) and welded it to the original bumper brackets. Used jack stands with the bumper brackets bolted solid than tack it all together really good unbolted and welded it all up. I am not sure how Chevy brackets are but the fords were at least a 1/4 inch and plenty strong enough just make sure you bevel the heck out of it so you get plenty of penetration. Used lead wheel weights to fill it. The caps I used are for fence posts.

I just took this truck in on a trade deal and stored it for the winter. Big block and a Ford 9" with long ladder bars are on the shelf along with aluminum slot wheels. This project is second in line

Here's mine, she's a '64 Merc, currently with a T5 trans backing up a cammed HO 302 (see, those Mustangs are good for something!) and a 4:10 posi, best time was 14.71. Next year I'll be running a rollerized Ford small block with Dart heads and slicks, hoping to hit high 12's.

    Your truck came out GREAT!
I hope mine looks anywhere near as good, and runs around that same mark, when it comes back from paint, and gets reassembled! Congrats! Something different....

    Thanks man.
The "Elephant Hunter" has come a long way in 3 years and continues to evolve. The old guys like it because they remember it from the 70's and they are just happy to see it back on the track. The younger folks like it because it's different. In today's cookie cutter mentality, that was important for me.

Already starting to save for a roller cam and a 6-71 for the small block.
