gasser brakes

okay im looking for front brakes for a g***er project, anyone on here have any info on early volvo front disc, and how there adapted to ford spindles, i know they were popular back in the 60's, thanks for any help

 

The Volvo disc brake conversion required machining of the priginal Ford spindles to mount the Volvo hubs. This is covered in many article sin the 70s and in one of Tex SMith's How-to Books form the Hotrod Mechanix days.

 

You'd probably come closer to makeing Stude discs fit.

Actually the only part of the brake setup that would be necessary would be the calipers then you could snag rotors that were an easier fit to your spindles.

 

you could use a wilwood spot setup and "make them look old" ...as the spot style brakes were big back in that time....or look for a old airheart spot setup.....brandon
