If you want to stay true to the gasser spirit you go by the title of the class ' Gas Coupes & Sedans '

If your car is showing any canvas the Gasser Police will bust you !!

  2. read rule number 2 on the first page.

If not Gas Coupe/sedan it would run either street roadster or gas roadster. or it would run in open gas against the dragsters and comp coupes etc.

High n mighty by the way either ran altered or open gas class not gas coupe/sedan.

You can call it whatever you want till it's done- now it's a convertible; two years from now who knows? ( at least it won't be a Toyota!) Have fun with it, and good luck.

  7. When you look at those rules that were posted, remember that was 1956. I think the First year for the Gas Coupe class. The rules changed a bit year by year. If you want to really learn a bit about the Gas Classes and what it was all about - here is a great place to start http://www.gassermadness.us/
    Have fun :)

I think the 40 would make a more suitable gasser styled car.

  10. dodge called it a roadster(at least for the first 1/2 of the year)

    from wikipedia:

    1950[edit]

For 1950, the D-33 Wayfarers (as for the entire Dodge lineup) received a facelift with a sleeker grille, new bumpers, and new rear fenders with the taillights mounted directly on them.[10] Mid-year, the roadster was renamed Sportabout as Chrysler realized that very few "true" roadsters were sold. The Sportabout, unlike the rest of the Wayfarer line, also received a body moulding which extended onto the front doors.[5] A one-barrel, L-head inline-six of 230 cu in (3.8 L) was installed, with 103 hp (77 kW). This was to be the only engine option for the Wayfarer's entire production run.

A disastrous 104 day strike, lasting from 25 January until 8 May, hamstrung all of Chrysler's production this year.[5] Meanwhile, the arrival of the Rambler Landau convertible meant serious competition for the roadster. While a little more expensive, the new Rambler was much more comprehensively equipped and could seat five rather than two people.[5] Business coupe production also dropped, although the sedan increased for a better overall than in 1949. 75,403 were built, made up of 65,000 sedans, 7500 coupes, and 2903 roadsters/Sportabouts.
