History Gasser Coupe

I am trying to find information about a car I vaguely remember but can't get details..it was think) a Chevy gasser coupe called The Steel Eel. Any help?

Maybe the first one was a coupe..

 

That roll cage looks like a Jungle Jim. His Wife must have made him do that. Said if he didn't do as she said he couldn't go play with is little Buddy's at the race track.

 

The only thing I could find for you was a news article from 1960 that said Dave Bookbinder of Cleveland drove his Class B coupe to a new mark of 116 42. So it sounds like there most likely was a Steel Eel coupe, since this was prior to the 1962 magazine article.

 

It was a Chevy coupe, fenderless, pointed nose, around the same period as the 554...would have been early 60's,chopped top, I wish I could remember more but it's nagging me and I want to find it.. I think the article was in Rod & Custom...I'm reasloably sure it wasn't Hot Rod....
