Hy guys, building a '37 Ford coupe, gasser-style. I want to raise the front about 3".

It still has the stock I-beam front end - with early disc-brakes.

I would like advice re getting the main-spring re-arched etc.

And any problems if it IS raised.

    Oh, running tunnel-rammed 460 and big-input top-loader to 9" rear-end.

  2. lower the front crossmember some how
i think i remember seeing a 40 something ford that a guy put a mustang II cront crossmember in it and then welded a channel to the bottom of that and bolted the spring on that way
    tk

Arching the springs will be a little tougher than most of your other options. If your going for a gasser, just change it to a tubular straight axle and parallel leafes. It'll be worth the effort as far as reliability and looks, too.

Look up how Bump-Steer is caused.
Then do everything to avoid that.

We've got a straight axle under a '55 wagon and 454, and it drives better than any stock A-arm setup.
