Hi all, it's been a while since I've chimed in here. Had a great summer running our `37 Chevy Gasser with the NDRL (Nostaliga Drag Racing League).

Just clicked my Favorites link to Byrons Gasser Madness and much to my dissapointment, it's gone. I guess it was inevitable with Byron's passing. Darn fine web site. Just another reminder of how much we miss guys like Byron Stack.

Doing our best to keep the sport alive. Next race at Beech Bend in Bowling Green KY Sept 29-30 along side the AMRA Harley finals. Be sure to check out the NDRL at www.nostalgiadragleague.com

Its going to come back, had a few issues getting the domain transferred according to BP. It may be coming back in as www.gassermadness.us until that happens.

  5. Wow!

    This sucks!

I'm still going to keep it in my favorites for awhile just in case someone brings it back.

    Someone keep us informed.

I think the deal is that they were on the same server. No one has paid for either so they are both gone.
Bill Pratt @ Draglist is taking over Byron's Gasser Madness, saved all the content and is going to bring it back in some form, but he said he didn't know anything about the Gas/FX board. So it's gone unless someone steps in to keep it going in someway. I really don't know how that works.

That really is a shame to lose that site.

RIP Byron hopefully knowing someone else will become the caretaker.

If only we all knew someone who ran his own websites dedicated to traditional hot rodding and racing, that could take over the sites and keep them alive...

Hopefully he'll be able to give it the justice that site deserves. It was a GREAT site... I really enjoyed it, and learned a ton reading it. It's definitely one of the treasures of internet resources.

From what I understand, the content of Byron's Gasser Madness will be back on the internet, but it won't be as Byron's Gasser Madness right now, maybe later if things can be worked out.
There are folks on the HAMB that know a lot more about it than I do, but I'll post any info I hear on this thread.

Larry, thanks, please keep us posted, Gasser Madness was a great site, Byron really tried to keep it going with his health problems, was a great guy, we corresponded many times and I tried to help identify some of the cars there....sorry to learn of his recent passing, hope that the site survives, he put a lot of care into it....

Too bad, really hope it comes back at some point. This could happen to any site (or car, or anything else) upon the passing of a caretaker, if an immediate contingency plan isn't in place beforehand. Even the HAMB...
One of many things I've observed in life is that all good things come to an end eventually. But the nature of preservationists is to keep trying.
So, hopefully it'll be back at some point.
Until then, maybe the "internet wayback machine" could be used, or other sites like gasserhotrods.com will fill the void...

Hi guys. Just noticed this. I did save off the site, but then I lost the computer I had saved it to. But never fear, I was able to recover it. But the problem is that when the computer went down, so did the program I used to maintain the sites. I do have the site saved and i do have the domain name gassermadness.us. I just need to buy a new program to maintain that large site and then i will put it back up. Thanks. Bill

I am proud to announce the return of Byron Stack's Gasser Madness! The site is about 80 percent restored. Please tell your gasser lovin' friends that we are back and tell all your webmaster pals to change their links from gassermadness.com to gassermadness.us. Thanks to Byron's family and to all the Gasser fans out there for their support. Bill

THANK YOU! Really glad to see it back, real tribute to Bryon...know there is probably some more work to do in recovering the photo links, but sure is great that the site survived...
