<<<<<< I run generic flowmasters (bad choice) on my 55, all the way back to the bumper. They dont sound very mean, but I drive my car on long trips and the noise level is very acceptable. When i arrive at shows, generally I uncork the fenderwell headers (DAMN I LOVE fenderwells sound, way better than chassis headers sound) and cruise a while before the show or during large area fairgrounds shows. No one thats a real car person doesnt like a bitchin car rumbling by with the headers uncorked, it just gets the juices flowing! I really like purple hornies and always wanted them in high school, but for 2-8 hour road trips they are too much for me ( AM I really saying this? I must be getting old!) but they get my vote hands down. You guys all have bitchin cars by the way!!!!
I like the "purple Hornie" idea, unfortunately the only header mufflers I see are 3". My SBC will run 2.5 on the street, uncorked when needed.
