Don you and I think the same way on most stuff. I have a 37 chevy in the shop now that was an original Gasser from the 60s reminds me a lot of yours it's just a different color.

  12. Hibernating from the 20 below windchill for the last few weeks.

  13. And it WON the "Gasser" class at the Grand National Roadster Show this year

  14. There were no Cells back then!

This is pretty much the scenario - Although you could run it outside the frame rails as long as it had what was basically a "Cage" around it, like Wild Willy Borsch's car has

Nope, the cam driven injector pump will suck fuel just fine.

I was trashing on the Anglia for the new motor fire up and then the GNRS

  18. Don ~ As cynical as I am, I think in this case it was not politics.and i was in the same class. The classes are judged on a points system for Paint, Plating, Workmanship, upholstery, modifications etc.
There is nothing in the ISCA type judging for historical significance, is it "really" a "gasser" etc. Just the shiniest, prettiest car basically ~ as car show probably should be .......

Having said all that, last year the Gasser Wars magazine sponsored awards for just that race car room, independent of the "Show Judging and Awards". My little Anglia won Best of Show ~ and I think that was because it was given out by guys who get what these cars are supposed to be.

  19. We're all over on the Melt Down Drags thread threatening each other about what were gonna do to each other come that magic weekend in July. Check it out, its getting good. We are gonna tow the '56 out to Byron Ill. from Cali. to join the South against the Yankee's for Gasser bragging rights.

  20. I think it won the Monster Truck Jam @ Anaheim the last time. :)

Are you sure, the official list shows the Gasser Class Winner as a 56 Chevy owned by John Lynch? or did I read something wrong...

Between working on the Austin gasser, doing bodywork and upgrades on my Falcon gasser, and building a Nova gasser for my buddy, I ran out of spare time! Just got in the house and finished dinner, so time to relax and see what's going on with the other gasser dudes!

I get so sick of seeing "Street Freak" style cars advertised as "Gassers".....
    I don't care how shiny they are.Painting
Spots on a white dog doesn't magically transform it into a Dalmation,it just ends up being what you made it:

A white dog with a bunch of spots painted on it.

Those Galpin cars are real eye candy, but they are like the automotive equivalent of a caricature drawn of Jay Leno: They get shit all exaggerated and miss the substance.

    Show cars:Yes.
    Gassers: Negatory.
