I did not know that you have a blower, that's a serious momo
Not very many pick ups out here back in the day, can think of one that ran at the ' Beach'

What color are you going to paint it, are you going to just paint one panel at a time?

Here's that pic of Don's Chevy I've been promising to post up forever......
....the car is so clean it could be a show car,but so mean that the other Gas class racers must have hated seeing it roll through the gates at the track....:) ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1415364576.377413.jpg

    Ps: Don,
Wrench is a hell of a guy,we were pitted close to him at the Meltdown drags, and he is one********* dude when it comes to automotive tomfoolery!:)
We had tons of fun,and I can't wait to see that truck of his run next year!

In my opinion that car has pretty much everything perfect:
    -Wheel/tire combo
    -Stance
    -Paint
    -Panel alignment/overall sanitary****embly
    -Near stock appearance

It still blows me away that damn near everything from the windshield forward was a 'glass replica of a stock part.

    Absolutely killer:)

    Thanks Guys

I did show the car when it was apart in the drive line dept, at the Tridents show one yr Maz won with his candy red A/ G super and I got second place that was really cool

I just had a body guy go over all the steel parts for the front end, then Curt took them all and built the molds from them

The hood half's had the louvers that needed to be filled in , so his glass man Mouse taped off the outside and filled in inside part with plaster of paris

After it was hard a little green stuff to fill the little holes then some primer and they were ready for making molds too

The headlight cans were made of one layer of 2 oz cloth and were very light

The only way to tell it was glass was by looking at the blocked off louvers from the rear of the car

    Shameless plug!!!!!!

Just a heads up guys and girls
WAC Customs in the proud owner of all the old axle inventory and fixtures of MAS racing

    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1418349441.430180.jpg

I will be tightening up the tolerances on the old fixtures to bring Quality up to where I expect it to be. I plain on adding my custom king pin end to as many of the dropped axles as I can.
The big dropped axles will not except my king pin ends but I should be able to add a flag to the boss as I do on my ends. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1418349821.561991.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1418349835.013170.jpg

WAC Customs - Good deal on the MAS stuff. A MAS axle went under my '57, following Baron's lead. Bought the setup right before they shut down.

Merry Christmas! We traveled to Pittsburgh. Warm here for this time of year (no snow!)

Don, have we seen pictures of the interior in that beauty?

    Dscn0259.jpg Hi Dave

The inside was pretty plain Jane to keep it simple
Package Tray black cardboard for the door panels and front and rear side panels too, trimmed in a sew on U shape then sprayed with clear to protect the cardboard
Glass seats covered in black Naugahyde with no padding using a simple design
Black cloth headliner with the roll bar painted black to blend in
Alum firewall & floorboard finished using a gitterbug sander for a satin finish
Chromed Window & Dash mouldings and a Sun Tach
Clear plex in the doors and taking out all the window stuff to get out more weight
The right seat was not to set as it was very light, just for looks and to be lega
And a Set of Jim Deist Safety belts & a Bell Helmet for the pilot trimmed in turned silver leaf to match the lettering
That's about it Dave, thanks for asking G Don

    Hi Gary

Its the only one I have that is big enough to see the interior in any detail , the one in Hot Rod mag is too small

    Hi CG

It was simple and to the point, did not need no ' Tuck'n Roll ' since I needed all the cash I could get to get it running after 4 yrs of building and wanted to race it as soon as I could

The Pep Boys Stores had 4' square sheets of Package Tray 1/8 " thick cardboard, that was embossed with leather pattern what was perfect for the door panels

A little sewed on trim to finish off the edges and clear coat, and they made for a great looking interior that was easy to install and easy on the wallet too

    Later G Don

I think the true test of a quailty build is that Don's Chevy would be considered a first class race car today, 50+ years later.
