My car is a 'cartoon' of a gasser, never raced. Bought it in 1966 along with Hydramatic tranny, Olds rear end, 331 hemi. Took 'til 1995 to finish it and get it on the road. Name came from a bad Angie Dickenson TV movie from the '70s.

From day 1 of the build mine is called 'Cheatin' The Reaper'
The name comes from realisation that I'm still alive after all of the dumb and dangerous stuff I've been doing all my life......

Here's one from back in the day around 1972 at US 30 Indiana that will hopefully someday make an appearance at the Meltdown.

Just my opinion but I believe all cars should have names on them.

It gives them their own personality.

I've seen this guy run for years. He gets everyone else's throw downs or broken parts, then builds a car for virtually nothing. Funny thing. His cars run. He won dirt track championships at the local track for several years running. Everybody used to call him a junkyard dog. And that's what the name of his car should be.

I'm gonna call mine "MONKEY POWERED BONDO ROCKET".... Now that I had kids I can't call it "PROM NIGHT DUMPSTER BABY" like I had originally planned...

This used to be mine. I built it in 1973-74 during the Arab oil embargo and fuel crisis. I named it "Endangered Species" for three reasons:

At the time the falcon was an endangered bird
Racing was in danger of being banned
The automobile was threatened with no fuel to drive it

The current owner upgraded the car and repainted it but liked the name so he kept it. I raced it with a six. It is now powered by a 460 and runs high nines. Enjoy
