The "Bad Jose" '55 Chevy from Compe***ion Engineering in New Paris, IN has always been my favorite. I remember seeing the car run and also driving past the shop when I was only 17 years old. Three years ago I had a strange "encounter" when I ran across the "back-up" engine for the Bad Jose g***er at an auction in the cold of winter in a pole barn in Elkhart, IN. I actually talked to the guy having the auction and he told me how when he got out of the army in 1965, he and his brother bought a 55 Chevy g***er (not Bad Jose). They quickly blew the engine and he then went to Compe***ion Engineering and bought the complete Hilborn injected "Bad Jose" back up engine off the show room floor. The engine never made it into his '55 and remained on a skid all those years. It was on the skid with a four speed and a spare set of heads. And that's how I bought it...complete skid! I sold that engine to a guy in CA. I dont know what ever happened to the car after Jerry died.

  27. 021.jpg 027.jpg Cool thread, In high school I would paint names on friends cars. G***ers or street, strip Rods are more fun if they have a name. I wish I had pictures of those cars. Here are a few I drew with some cool names.
