That thing is really cool. If it were in my garage I think it would sure get styled along the lines of that picture of the A/SR pickup. Looking at the pictures in the original post one has to wonder why the sides of the pick up box are cut out? Any ideas? Doc
Kiwi Kev as I said before YOU ARE THE MAN! and thanks. I don't know why the sides are cut out I thought it happened after he quit driving it but looks like they were out in the 1976 pictures as well. I am in the market for two October 1976 magazines as I talked to Diana and she knew nothing about it being in the magazine as her and Darrell were not yet acquainted. She has been a pleasure to deal with and only sold the car to help he pay some bills and not because she wanted two.
If you in large the mag photo It looks like their is art in the bead cut outs possibly so it can be changed out
Hay guys Just got done talking to Diana and I bought the canoe seems as we will leave car as is for the summer and attend as many car shows as possible as a tribute to Darrells memory and hard work. Diana tells me the streetkhana was a race around hay bales she rode one time got whiplash and never did it again great lady and a great story.
Can you believe people actually built cars like those shown above? Don't you wish they still did? Lost in the 50s
Just awesome that the car is so much like it was in the magazine shoot. Porknbeaner, thanks for the info re: fenders & roof. Light car with a torquey 409 oughta be a thrill ride
