I think alot of gassers were built by Vets after they came back from Vietnam well into the 70s, I talked to the builder of a 67 Chevelle the drag car I owned and he said he was building a gasser, he was a C-130 pilot in Vietnam that came home early 70s.
Note: it had a 4 link of his own design with 36" bars

When these guys left for war, Gassers is what they dreamed about building.

My wife is quite a gasser...bean dip being the most effective fuel:eek:.

She doesn't have a straight axle, but has the weight distribution to the rear end down pat:eek:;)

Hope nobody thought from my last post that I didn't like gassers, I do like original looking ones. The mile high nosed ones I don't care for. Cars like SWC and Ohio George's cars sit mostly level, and are the style I remember seeing in the mags. There were a few nose up cars, but high and level seemed to be more the norm.

I'm ok with straight axle cars up to about 1965 models, the era that we cover. Newer than that, well, that's for somewhere else...
