  4. I have one of these bullet nose cars in the project row. It would be a poser if I build it. Years ago I was at a billetless show and they let anyone with a car registered to run down the 1/8 mile at Milan Michigan. That is worthy of a spot on my bucket list. This image from speedhunters is the inspiration. Sponsored by Dale’s Happy Hour- those were the days! 2EB77957-D3C3-4B12-84DE-328D3D0FCD6C.jpeg

John always had top notch drag cars. Note the angle on the coil over front shocks in this photo.

The car in my avatar has a straight axle since the sixties. It is not the axle that will cause any problems but how well it is installed. Like said above most of the cars I raced in gas classes did not have straight axles on them. If you go back to the early to mid-sixties, most gassers specially in the lower classes were driven to the track.

Hey bones, I'm just a fan of a straight axle car. I like the look better than a lowered car myself, plus I don't need a jack to get under my car lol. I wanna add that I believe that the old saying "drives like a Gasser" doesn't apply to every car that has a straight axle. Proper geometry fixes that problem. The last 2 I've built drove wonderful. My current car cruises down the highway like a dream. She's a little temperamental in curves, but that's the big and little setup, not like I'm trying to slalom the dang thing anyway lol. But as far as the gasser look, it's my favorite.

More travel with a short shock but healthy spring needed.
