I have a Tremec T56 and would like to fabricate a gated shifter. I have read some old posts from 2011 but they didn't address my issue. My transmission (all T56) have a short stub of a shifter in which the proper shifter lever bolts onto with two bolts. This makes the shifter wider, the very point in which the shifter is in the gate. I need to buy a one piece shifter that attaches within the transmission case. Does anyone on this site know where I can but such a shifter?

I always liked the old exposed shifters the Ferrari had, especially these with the reverse lockout lever.

This ^^^^ is not a T56 or TR6060 gated shifter the reverse is up by 5th [not up by 1st]

T56's are almost impossible to successfully make a gated shifter [I've been down this path in my race car]

The 1-2 , 3-4 , and 5-6 gates are too close together requiring a very thin stick to create some separation.
Also the gate needs to be raised high ,closer to the shift knob.

The gate needs to be mounted on a tower directly to the transmission or any movement creates a phasing issue.

The dreaded 2-3 upshift [aka Money shift] is the motive for most people wanting a gated shift , so if that is your motive there are other better methods to address this problem. [shifting technique is the first]
    Gated shifters are Sloooow!

If you really want to go down the gated shifter path, The best shifter to use a stock shifter / hybrid.
You will need to split it open and remove the stub and graft on a thin stick
This can be cut / bored in a lathe and a new lever TIG welded in place.

When you reassemble [and TIG the top in place] get another 2nd hand shifter and pirate the Belville springs from it [and stack 5 together vs the original 3]

You cannot use any short shift mods at all [or even a S10 T5 shifter] T56 and T5 shifters interchange on early models
Here is a Camaro vs S10 shifter height comparison

Short shifters reduce sideways movement making a gate impossible to make or function.

On my race car [with a rare T56R close ratio] we "live on the lever".
I am adding a ratchet type 1st gear lockout that is operated by a "pull-ring" on the shift lever. I cannot engage 1st unless I pull the ring.
This eliminates the dreaded 1st gear money shift at 7000 rpm while 2-3 upshifting .
I have also developed a "clamshell" floating gate that blocks the 5-6 gate while shifting into 3rd [once in 3rd the gate opens allowing 4-5-6 shifts]

Whatever you do, Make sure you use the T56 reverse lockout solenoid on the side of the trans 4th into Rev isn't fun.
I modified mine so it is "solid" and not spring loaded so it is now impossible to "use enthusiasm" to accidentally select Reverse
