My theory is that hotels often overbook expecting cancellations, but they didn’t realize how big of a deal this show was and that nobody would be cancelling. You’d think after 3 years of it they would know better. My room is still there. But given this issue, and how much of a pain in the ass they made it for everyone to book in the first place, I think I’ll be staying elsewhere in the future.

If it boils down to it, there will still be dozens of rooms somewhere within a reasonable (30 minutes?) drive from the show. There are motels scattered all over the place.

yes...I prepaid mine at the Extended Stay in Bartlesville and had stayed there the first year....I've stayed at the host hotel and it isn't that big of a deal to me....I like to drive the car anyway...if the truth be known, the event blocks out all the rooms at the Hilton prior to announcing the dates and they are sold out before the date is announced to those in the 'know'
    Good luck everybody....

Meh I could hitch hike there and sleep on a park bench and it would still be worth it.

wonder if they have camping on site or not. Guess the Buffalo might wake you up lol

  7. Fuck that. All this hotel BS is totally wrong. We had thought about driving down to see friends but...........................

Yeah I wonder what the deal is. It’s not just the host hotel it’s a bunch of them and a bunch of the houses that were rented. I would assume when the casino opens it will be the new head quarters and the show will leave barrtlesville proper

  9. Ive driven my 40 Ford out there from Maryland 3 times now, so I submitted my old farm truck this year and was lucky enough to be accepted into the show. This will be the farthest I’ve driven it yet. Looking forward to it.

Jeesh guys, I got cancelled, then booked another room across town. I'll be there all 4 days. It's 100% worth coming, even to just hang out.

  11. Blacklisting a whole show because of a single hotel in a town with multiple lodging options. Wow.

I'd suspect the promoters won't utilize the Hilton Garden Inn as the host venue in future years.

Our car isnt registered in the show, but I hope to make it if up anyways if I can dance around some family obligations..
I just looked for rooms on air bnb last night & found a few. My buddy said his hotel still had rooms.
Worst case, Ive got a cooler, tent, air matress and a .45 I'll just camp it. Anyone else camping ? We used to have a blast camping the whole weekend at Day of the Drags ! IMG_7146.jpg

I booked the Fairfield last fall when the show started taking entries and they e-mailed me a confirmation. I reconfirmed the room last week with another e-mailed confirmation. Be interesting when we get there to see if we have a room or will be picking up my T shirt and coming back to Nebraska? My wife won't sleep in the truck.

I plan to roll into town Thursday afternoon. We got rooms at the Hotel Phillips in Bartlesville. Looking forward to this, as it is our first time at the ROC.

    I'm bringing the 32 7-window...

    See you all there.
