Featured Event Coverage Gathering at the Roc 2026

The big event is coming up soon, October 8 through the 10th. Who plans to go? Do you have any advice on lodging things to do BS whatever? This is a big deal and I did not see a thread on it. I will be there one way or another. I want to take my 49 Ford, but I just haven’t had enough time to finish up a few odds and ends. If that’s not ready to drive the distance, then be there in the coupe.

What y’all bringing? When will you arrive? What routes will you take? Places to stay that still have rooms? I have been too lazy to get a room, but it won’t bother me if I drive back-and-forth to Tulsa every day. The weekend’s about driving your rod anyway.

 

We will be there with our ' 32 Tudor. This will be our second trip there and we don't plan to miss another one. It is the best show I've ever been too. My wife even had a good time. We are staying at the Osage Casino.

Be there with the yellow roadster if I still own it. Otherwise I'll drive Howard my daily driver deuce pickup. Have stayed at the Fairfield Inn on the east side of town for 3 years. Clean rooms and has a good hot breakfast. Also beside a Freddy's which is good for a late night chocolate malt.

I think the first real event is on Friday, October 9, for the reliability run. Saturday, October 10 is the show. This year, I plan to arrive on Thursday, October 8 like a lot of people do.

I think this thing sold-out like in the first few hours of the day registration opened. Like a lot of lazy people, I will be a hang-arounder this year. maybe we should get some T-shirts made for the “Gathering in the Lot”?

 

Will be there again this year and haven’t missed one yet. I registered and will be bringing my 51. Staying in an Airbnb in Bartlesville with some other HAMBers including my brother and one of his friends. Might be like when we were high school age or so as far as that many guys all staying in one house. Lol

Definitely don’t want to miss the reliability run or hanging out at the host hotel in the evenings.

 

We plan on it, staying at a campground close to town and driving this thing:

 

Man last year I saw parties and gatherings as early as Wednesday night! Gravitate to the host hotel parking lot and go to everything! Last year hop up had a party maybe Thursday night? At a bar just down the strip.

always a good time, if you didn’t get accepted into the show still go. You can still go to all the parties, bands, reliability run, and fun ****. You just park the hot rod in the parking lot at the show. No big deal.

**** last time we went we only had a day and we left to go sit by the exit near the old gas station about when awards started. We watched hot rods roll by and hammer it when they hit the highway for at least two or three hours. Helped people
Guide cars into the gas station to take photos etc.

there’s a bathroom in the shelter just a few yards over. Had a blast.

Thanks, Yea it was a surprise to meet someone from the HAMB from Colorado on a Wednesday night at little old Gilmore. Wish we had more time to chat, as I said you just might see us out that way next year after retirement. You missed a great Relix show, next time your out this way bring a car!

 

Looking forward to checking your car out at the Roc. I guess my brother is heading down from Michigan as well and bringing his 61 Invicta.

 

Hell yea, I think there may be quite a few Michigan people going down. Should be a great time and the 1st for us so it's sure to be an adventure.

I plan to be there if i can find a replacement model a motor for my roadster in time. Coming from SE Michigan

 

I am planning on being there....if the stars, moon and planets align... I'm staying somewhere, it seems to always work out...looking forward to hanging out with ROC friends
The '31 Vicky was accepted so I guess I ought to have it take me there...I'll probably be there Thursday but have folks that want me to stop and see them along the way in Amarillo TX and Binger OK...so a different travel route to get lost with my paper maps...

Envious of all you guys and gals heading to the ROC, hope to make it sometime. Question, are the majority of the rides driven there or trailered there?

 

I would say the majority are actually driven, although there are several trailered as well. Even the trailered ones typically do the reliability run though which is around a hundred miles or so.

 

Yeah the vast majority drive!

 

Driving is the only way to go. A trailer provides no fun, just work loading and unloading.

 

I'm trailering mine from Michigan. We stay in a motorhome when traveling and pull an enclosed trailer so I always have a garage with me. Would love to drive it but it only has 300 miles and I am in no way confident in cross country journey's with it YET!

 

We trailer from Maryland, 1,200 miles but drive the hot rod everywhere the rest of the weekend. The Reliability Run is the best part for me!
