Gauge wiring...any tips?

I've just started wiring up the gauges in my car and am realizing that each gauge needs power, ground, and a signal; plus power and ground for each light making for 19 or 20 wires total with 4 gauges, I'm sure it's been done so does anyone have any tips on how to make cheap junction blocks or ways to combine powers and grounds to keep the wiring down to a minimum. So far I've been using butt connectors to splice everything together but there's got to be an easier way.

Use a big butt connector to put several smaller wires into...should only need one connector for all the light + wires, another for all the light ground connections, another for gage power, another for gage ground, and then a signal wire for each gage. You'd put half of the wires in each side, and twist them together, use small wire for this, like 18 or 20 gage.

Try to make it kind of short and neat, and you might also see about getting a Molex type connector from radio shack or an electronics place to connect all the wires to...so you can unplug the whole gage cluster from the rest of the harnes to work on it.

Daisy chain the gauge powers, the light powers and the grounds. I used a 4-pin trailer connector for my senders and lights and one extra wire for power to the panel.
