bought this off of ebay .was supposed to be a 70's model w chrome cup and mount, but did'nt look right so I bid and won it , Sun tach dated 1964 SST-802--2, all I have ever seen from this time used the sender /trigger box and had the box # on the tag no # anyone know? also are the electric senders(water/oil temp/oil preasure avail for SW gauges like the green face + old school black electric ones ? I know something was talked about this b4 but I can't find it in a search.
That tach should need a sender, contact Sun with the number off the tach. I don't think you can run 'em with eletronic (a little help here). For the senders for the SW gauges I'd do the same thing. Don't contact the local distributer, contact the company first. They all tech support. if it don't make ya dirty it aint yours
Got a circa 62-63' catalog that lists the SST Models SST70 and SST90 and they need the transmitter box, but I think most of the later SST's did not need the transmitter.
found it! on the tachometer photo page -no url ,sorry comes up on a search for SUN TACHS,early 1967 - early 70's-no transmitter, KOOL!- they used old cases until gone, hense old 64 date, anyway its one i can use them transmitter types are kool, but WAY spendy to convert.
