    Hello everyone,
I have a stupid question cause I'm an idiot. Here goes. I welded a 1947 GMC truck dash into my 1927 model t ford. Before I installed it, I turned the dash upside down to make sure all the needles in the gauges moved through thier full range of motion. They do. So I said cool and welded it in. The idea being that I could hook it up later.
Well it is almost time. My question is how do I know if they are 12 volt or 6 volt? Thanks.

And also thanks. I think I know what I need to do now.
Do you install the voltage dropper in line to the main power wire to feed all the gauges?

    One Runtz for each gauge.

  5. Or one of the Ford Type voltage reducer to supply all the gauges.

    Ok. Thanks
    I have 4 gauges
    Oil is mechanical
Amps which I don't know if l can or should hook it up on a more modern altanater.
Fuel and water. So two runts should do it.

Water gauge, if original, is mechanical. Hopefully the line was not cut. Amp/voltage gauge will
work for 6 or 12 volts. You can buy an exact replacement for the gas gauge in 12v. Not a big
deal. I have run the amp gauge with an alternator in my '54 3100 for 25yrs now. No problem. Keep in mind that the stock oil gauge only goes to 30lbs., the replacements
can be had in 60 lbs. if you need a higher pressure gauge.

Providing your amp gauge is able to support the maximum current of the alternator, it should be fine.
