Hi there HAMBers. Just wanted to drop in and say hello. I've been lurking around the site for a while now, spending way too long but it's so bloody addictive I can't help myself. Just love reading about the builds and admiring the awesome talents. I'm fortunate enough to own a pretty cool old 56 Chevy Belair 'more door' here in Perth. At the moment she's 'bog stock", running a 265 with Powerglide. She sits a couple of inches lower thanks to lowered springs and blocks. I'm running some 15 inch wide whites with full caps. My plan is to dress up the 265 with some 50's period gear and drive the wheels off it. Might do a front disc brake conversion as well as she's a whole lotta car to pull up in a hurry. Cheers Moz
Me too, I looked at a '56 two tone green four door as a 19 year old 22 years ago for $6500. With hindsight, glad I didnt buy it - I hate to think what I would have done to it!!
G'day from Kansas. sweet ride. used to live outside perth myself, moved back to the states tho. def keep the 6 cyl, those dont get enough cred
Thanks for the welcome guys, sorry FarmRod, I should have mentioned that the 265 is V8. Nothin wrong with the old stovebolt though...
Welcome from NZ/Perth, (im working over there at the moment, like every other Kiwi). Im quite a fan of the 55-56 Chev, got a mate in Perth who has quite a collection of them. Yours looks like a pretty sweet ride.
Hey Mozz, Nice wheels - will I see the old girl at the Yanchep Run or Armadale Open Day this month ??? Monty
Hi Monty. I'm checkin the dates as we speak. Got the GM day later in the month, be there for sure. Cheers
