You don't mention what year and model Buick, but I ran a 700r4 with a 9" 4.11 with Auburn unit behind my last 383 cu in sbc stroker (440hp). That was in a 31 A coupe with full fenders, and it worked perfectly.

I have a 700R4 and 3.50 Detroit Locker with a 28" tire in my OT ride with close to 400 hp and it works great.

  4. I have a Saginaw 4 speed in mine with a small horsepower V8. With your engine you should consider a Muncie 4 speed transmission. Ratio for the final drive revolves around tire size and what kind of rpm you'll want at highway speeds among other things. The Muncie comes with different ratios (wide and close). If you're more drag race oriented prolly a 4:11 gear in the rear. Many options there.
