What a cool hot rod and what a surprisingly large amount of details showing those grainy photos! I’m curious if the steering box they had necessitated the angle and they used what they had? maybe they had plans for a bigger/ set back engine in the future possibly and just planned ahead? either way the under hood and under back photos are fantastic
Yeah an odd choice for the steering, but probably what they had laying around. Also always been a fan of R&C, I always collected the old little books at swap meets to take to school in the late 90s and early 00's. I blame my love for them though on Taboo as that had been my "poster" car growing up and I wore out copies of the R&C that it was on the cover back in 1960.
Hello, If memory serves me, there is something to be said about early "T-bucket" builds and steering. Having sat in one, there is always that thing sticking up almost between your kneecaps. So, is it the similar steering box set up? A lot of early T-buckets had the steering wheel facing the driver, but, it was an awkward position in a small area. But, not as awkward as almost up and down. Jnaki So, whatever steering box was available that worked, was usually socked in place. YRMV
